The Creed

The Wheeler Way

Six tenets I return to when my actions do not match my intentions. They are the closing appendix of the book, and the reason it exists.

The six tenets

From the closing pages of The Family Way.

01

I always do my best

Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstances, simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

02

I am impeccable with my word

Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

03

I don't make assumptions

Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

04

I don't take anything personally

Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

05

A change of heart is a change of everything

Embrace your feelings and look past your perception. Open your mind to what others may be seeing and feeling. Show compassion for everyone.

06

I always do what is right

Live with honor. Always help when you can, fix what you can, ask for help when needed. Do things right away and live in the now.

“I do today what others won't, so I have tomorrow what others can't”Live by this code of honor. Work hard and smart. Live life to the fullest. Fight the good fight.
“I live my life with integrity, every day”
